President Bush - State of the Union and Cloning January 28, 2003 Dear Mr. President, Thank you for your strong leadership of our nation in the face of terror. You made it very clear in your State of the Union address that the enemies of freedom will not prevail, that a free people will set the course of history, not tyrants. Thank you for your forceful stand on important social issues facing our nation. During your State of the Union address you made it abundantly clear to the American people that a moral imperative exists to reject cloning. The families represented by the Religious Freedom Coalition stand with you in rejecting the slavery of the unborn, the sale of their bodies for experimental purposes. Certain secularist organizations who reject God and the divine design of Providence are willing to clone human beings. You have made it clear that a nation blessed by God, as America surely is, should not follow such a foolish and dangerous endeavor. During the 107th Congress the Religious Freedom Coalition worked with Congressman Weldon (R-FL) and Senator Brownback (R-KS) to advance a complete ban on cloning in the United States. Beginning with the Senate hearings tomorrow we will once again embrace your leadership against the ghastly concept of the cloning of human life. Sincerely, William J. Murray, Chairman
